Organizing - Organzing 101

Great Tips
  • Record your tasks in your calendar or organizer for easy access and reminders.
  • Keep a working file, preferably with tabbed sections so you can manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Keep a piece of paper under your keyboard to jot down notes while you are working on your computer or on the phone. Transfer the relevant data and shred the paper at the end of the day.

How Organized Are You?

We have five questions for you. If you answer yes to any of them, you may want some help getting organized.

  1. Is your desk cluttered with paperwork at the end of the day?
  2. Do you spend time looking for things that are on your desk or on your shelf?
  3. Does it take you more than one minute to locate a file?
  4. Does it take you more than one minute (not counting computer start-up time) to find your task list and glance at your appointments for the week?
  5. Does the most organized person in the office look stressed when they are in your office? In this case you having a bad day does not count.

Well, how did you do?
